Years back, it used to be a simple task matching a 1:6 scale dynamite stick to a vintage GI Joe set. Nowadays, with all the Action Man and other Hasbro licensed foreign bits making their way across the pond, we felt that a chart that identified the origins of this little accessory might bring a little piece of mind.
In the earliest days, GI Joe and Action Man used a lot of the same accessories. It actually made good business sense, as they were all manufactured in Hong Kong anyway. As time moved on, Action Man had their own ideas about what they wanted, and started to branch away with different TNT versions. To complicate matters further, there’s also a transition period in the late 1960’s where old and new stock were included in earlier sets, such as Sabotage and Spy Island. Keep that in mind and you’ll probably notice a few crossovers and grey areas in this chart.
This reference chart was compiled to help collectors identify specific GI Joe and Action Man 1:6 scale accessories. Geff prefers to call them a work in progress, with room for additions, updates and the odd massaging of details. And photos. Lots of lovely photos.
