Vintage 1970 Action Man Argyll & Sutherland Highlander ~ Rare Canadian GI Joe

This superb vintage Canadian Sea Adventurer with original flocked ginger hair and a jaunty expression pairs perfectly with the Action Man Argyll & Sutherland Highlander outfit he’s wearing. Included with this handsome lad is a copy of the rare Argyll & Sutherland Highlander brochure, a highly informative read.

The condition of the individual components is as follows:

• Vintage Sea Adventurer has the correct Canadian Hasbro ‘Hassenfeld’ stamp on his butt and Canadian baby feet. Original flocked ginger hair and beard are thick and bright. Eye brow rubs at an absolute minimum. Superb face overall. Joints are tight; he was an absolute pleasure to pose. No stress cracks. Surface marks on front right thigh is the main note. Display this lad with pride (and try not to gloat).
• Tunic tag reads Palitoy Action Man Made in Hong Kong. Fabric is clean and bright with no holes, tears or fading. Buttons, snaps, epaulettes, and other trimmings are all present and in perfect working order. Light rust and/or oxidization of the vintage metal bits is the main note.
• Kilt is clean and brightly colored with all components present and in correct working order.
• Glengarry with cloth ribbon, rare metal badge and cloth backing is in extraordinary shape for its age and reputation for fragility. The cap itself is soft and pliable. Original badge with cloth backing is correctly attached by two metal prongs. Chequered cloth ribbon is intact with fading and light soiling (recommend not getting it wet or trying to clean). Correct textured black tassel is present and intact.
• Sporran is complete with absolutely minimal wear. Tassels are intact and brightly colored. Belt end clasp is unsplit, which almost never is the case! Light glue residue on inside of belt is not visible when worn, but noted anyway.
• Hose are brightly colored and minimal play wear.
• Spats are clean and intact. Elastic straps are both present and attached, with good elasticity.
• Boots are correctly marked Hasbro Hong Kong 1 & 2. Eyelets and replacement shoe strings are present with no split eyelets noted.
• Belt and buckle are clean and intact with no issued noted. Lovely!
• Bayonet, sheath and frog are clean and intact and with no issues noted.
• SLR Rifle is clean and intact with minimal play wear. Correct white strap is clean and intact with weakened elasticity.
